Executive Summary

In Guadalajara, México faces the challenge to raise citizens' awareness of pedestrian access and universal accessibility. The hub's objective with this project is to educate citizens about pedestrian access and universal accessibility. They plan to do this through workshops, photo-reporting tools and field trips which will serve to highlight urban pedestrian problems and then take actions. The hub aspires that at the end of the project the participating citizens are aware of their Right to the City and have evidence-based photographies that display the pedestrian inaccessibility.

Goals in the first iteration:

  • Organize 2 awareness workshops of pedestrian access and universal accessibility

  • Explore the city through field activities

  • Organize 2 Photo-report workshops focused on identifying, documenting and analyzing the problems of pedestrian access and universal accessibility

  • Generate a collaborative urban action to improve the state of this detected problem

  • Generation of a geo-referenced photographic database for urban interventions in the medium and long term. (Connection with the project: Citizen Sidewalk)
